You're Still the One....
Almost 10 years ago, I met the love of my life...my soul mate. Was it fate or was it just destiny? Neither one of us was at a point in our lives where a permanent relationship was supposed to happen. My husband, who had a loving relationship for 30+ years, had lost his wife after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, only months before. I had just 2 days before, gone to court for divorce, after enduring many years of emotional and mental abuse. Now who would figure that after dealing with a situation as I had, that I would even be open to a relationship with another man? But, I have always seen the cup as half full and knew that there were wonderful men out there. If it is possible to have love at first site, then that is what we had. It was difficult for our children to accept, especially my husband's, who were still grieving over the loss of their mother. But we have successfully joined two families...7 children, 7 spouses or significant others, & 8 grandchildren (so far!). Although our wedding 8+ years ago did not take place in Maine, we have spent most anniversaries, Mother's Days, & "just because" days in Maine. We have found many adventures from ideas in Down East, some adventures through presents from our children, and some adventures from just exploring, which we love to do. I would love to share our love with the ones who mean the most to us...our immediate family, other family, and those friends who are so close that we think of them as family. I would love to win the anniversary contest as a way of thanking them for their never ending & loving support. My husband is the most giving, caring, & tender man I have ever know. I am blessed & thank God every day for bringing him into our lives.
